The Benefits of Being a Firefighter
After university Rick continued to cave dive but his hobby didn't pay the bills. So he became a firefighter with the West Midlands Fire Service. The flexibility to stay calm and stressful situations ended up helping him professionally too. You were attracted to becoming a fireman because there were friends who did it. I wasn't even thinking back then about the other benefit which is retiring early. When you did the tire rescue, you were basically retired? I was. And then I was happily retired.
