Is OTP Really a Good Tool for Distributed Systems?
OTP lets us build systems that have less operational overhead. For certain systems, if you have the ability to run software that doesn't need persistent storage, that can be a very nice property for your system. Being able to robustly like keep state in memory and rehydrate it when needed has been a really useful tool for quickly delivering features with minimal operational overhead.
