Open Pelvic Fractures, Is Pelvic Packing Don't Work?

Clay: I love it when you read in a textbook, which you have to remember any textbook chapter is one person's opinion with a little bit of data. So we actually looked at our open pelvic fractures and it turns out they get a little more blood, which is not surprising, but pelvic packing does work in those patients. The infectious morbidity in those patients may be slightly higher as I mentioned. And so I think we do give anti-pariaoperative antibiotics and try and make sure that we limit just making sure that we have good tissue to breathe in.
