The network just thought this episode was too intense, which to be fair, it's a really intense bit of television. Without that episode, Kim is just mean. So without airing sequentially, you wouldn't know why these characters are now relating completely differently with each other. And you won't get to see these characters in a way that help you relate to them and connect to them.
