Gavin: I would say it's a tough claim to evaluate, because the Roman Catholic Church herself tethers her dogmatic pronouncements to what's unfolding from the Patristic era. Austin: The church seems like it maybe didn't have a foot to say that circumcision is passed away and we've got a new covenant. But that's exactly what the church does say and claims to speak on behalf of the Holy Spirit in Acts 1528. And if you just looked at scripture alone from the Old Testament, you would think that it was a perpetual covenant.
