The Man Can Sleep Through Anything, It Seems
Tommy's tongue scrapes the roof of his mouth. Obed and abdulla went off in the night to look for food, but they never came back. Tommy has no idea what his captors are planning to eat themselves. They're going to drown here or freeze to death. Beth feels john shiver against her. What are we to do? Because of his size in this tight spot, john can't really move, but beth can. Using dirt and some little rocks, beth slithers to the opening of the cave and tries to build the dam against the water. It works for a little while, but eventually even more starts to see.
