Are We Abandoning Population Waste, Fiscal and Eugenic Blasts?
The eugenics movement cemented these practices into a coherent ideology that said the way that we are to survive as a society and not become extinct is by making sure to abandon those who are waste. And so, I think that this is a logic that persists and has actually expanded since the closure of many of the large state hospitals. But ultimately, the logic of extraction and the carceral logic of human waste being a fiscal and eugenic burden can not be reclaimed or rehabilitated in order to make quote unquote productive people out of the human system.
