How to Build a New Era of the Workforce?

In the future there will simply be fewer jobs, period. We need a broader safety net to help people through times of technological change. The most basic thing we could do is provide things like universal health care. i think that this often gets lost when you hear people at big fancy conferences sayng,. oh, there will be new jobs created to replace the old ones. It never was during the industrial revolution. There were nr labor riots and horrible working conditions in those years where corporate profits weren't catching up with wages. And so i think that we need to be conscious that some people are not just going to semlessly leave their job or become therapist or whatever it may be.
