Jonathan and the Son of Demetrius
When Jonathan returned, he convened the elders of the people and planned with them to build strongholds in Judea. Trifo attempted to become king of Asia and put on the crown but feared that Jonathan might make war on him. He received Jonathan with honor and commended him to all his friends. But when Jonathan entered Tolomaeus, the men of Tolomaeus closed the gates and seized him. The father may die, but yet he is still like one who rejoices at leaving behind an avenger against enemies.
