The Ungodly Sound of a Dog's Mouth

The dog had white spittle around its mouth, some of it matted into the fur at the corners of its jaws. Its ribs were showing, which made me think it was a stray. My wife being the kind hearted soul that she is, asked if we should maybe give the poor things some food in a bowl of water. When I told her that I thought the dog might have rabies, she suddenly understood why I didn't want her opening the glass doors.
