Oral Anatomy: Is That Why We Never Looked in the Mouth?
Dental students at Harvard spend their first year as full time medical students. They learn the anatomy of, for examplethe chest cavity during our first year class but we didn't even really look at the oral cavity in the cadaver lap. All my classmates feel this divide. We went into dentistry knowing it had a really important impact on people's lives, but in medical school, that impact was really never addressed.
