Wolf Tone's Trial
In 1797, the government realized how close they came and a reign of terror breaks out. By May 1798, rebellion breaks out while tone is still in Paris. In the whole rebellion, 30,000 people die. Tone is watching this on the sidelines over in France. He meets Napoleon, who is now the leader and says, look, can you help me? And so, premissions are sent to Ireland. One gets through under humbers in August in Mayo, which is an amazing story of two weeks. I'll do a whole other show on that. But tone comes on the third mission is captured off Tory island by a far superior force was put on trial on November 10
