In most cases, we'd be okay because our galaxy is 100,000 light years across. You'd need one of these things to be within about 10 light years to be an existential threat. I mean, this is in a sense the greatest story ever told, right? And here we are sentient beings that can ask these questions about our very origins and with our intellect come to a reasonable understanding of our origins. What a beautiful story.
