Metal, Metal Rich and Metal Poor in the Universe

When the universe formed, there was no real metal that even could make them up. The pure hydrogen helium stars are known as population three. When a star explodes, all the heavier elements cant of just go into that neighborhood. And then which populates the gas in space with heavier elements. Even though they're not metals, we still call it, you know, it's part of the metalicity of a star.
