War offers a glimpse of something transcendent, for all its ugliness. For a brief instant, walton had seen men touch upon glory. And this glory that is possible in war, though certainly not on behalf of our current globo homo rulers,. which is a foolish waste. All this said, fighting cannot be permitted to become an end in itself that tears a society apart. The role of civilization, and especially of the women in that civilization, is to channel this impulse to productive and useful ends.
