If we don't understand that we are wired to want o people please, then even in the short term, if we're able to say no more, we might end up filling our need for people please with something else. When you say yes to things you don't want to do, you build up resentment that affects your relationships with other people. In the long term, they're just wondering, what the hell's going on with you? Why are you so upset at them all the time? We have to understand that there's something in it for us. That's why we keep the patterns alive.
