The Loss of Language
In many cases, the loss of language is an unfortunate consequence of globalization. But sometimes it can be a little more sinister. A lot of languages that have no written record because there would be neural languages. Once it's lost and everyone's dead and it was pre-recordings, you don't even know what is gone. Since the language we speak defines our self-identity and our cultural identity, suppression of a language can mean a direct suppression of a cultural group.
