The Wedding Ended in Blood

I feel like the the Jean Marchand character, the sexy pianist who his bride has been brainwashed three months after their wedding is like a sexy rescuer than Jean Marchand the 60 year old divorcee. I think there is a Pat narrative where this family, you know, fell into a cult, Tilly is the villain and he was caught. But it doesn't, there are details that just don't make sense. Like what did Guillaume know? What is the mask about? Who knows what their family meetings that they take elaborate notes for? That's a very French noble to me.
