The Court's Antipathy to Legacy Admissions
The decision handed down yesterday came with opinions that reveal a level of antipathy and engagement between members of the court. Justice Sonia Santamayor said, without any new factual or legal justification, the court overrides its long standing holding. The diversity in higher education is of compelling value to avoid public accountability for its choice. Elsewhere, in her dissent, Justice Sotomayor described the majority opinions quote, nothing but an attempt to put lipstick on a pig end quote.
