In 2002, Charlie Rose was writing for the New Republic when he met Christopher Hintons. Hitchens and Chomsky would go back and forth over whether 9/11 should have been treated as a war crime or not. In his first column after their break up, Hitch wrote that anti-imperialists are in fact the same people who oppose foreign intervention. He says they abominate about the West what Western liberals don't like: emancipated women; separation of religion from state.
