The Unwritten Rule of No Hitting
If you do something that's offensive to me, I don't have to hit you with a pitch. I can hit any of your teammates, really. There is kind of an unwritten rule that you don't try to bun for a base hit under those circumstances. And so it's not as though everybody agrees about these rules. But it used to happen all the time and then the result is brawls on the baseball field.
