Paradise was at especially high risk. There are other places, especially places in the Sierra Nevada foothills that have similar risk factors. They're in downslope wind corridors nestled within pretty dense forests or adjacent to forestry plantations which are even more flammable. Those are characteristics shared by a lot of towns in the Sierra foothills and in some of the coastal mountain areas where we've also seen catastrophic fires recently.
