Is There a Trans-Traditional Mysticism?

Scholars of mysticism are sometimes very circumspect with their language. We cannot really know what is going on with Rupert when he attains to union with the one, but we can study his account and traditions which revolve around it. Even M2 cannot properly be interpreted without direct access to M1. As many mystical writers have told us, you gotta be a mystic to understand mysticism.
