How Do We Get Her to Be the Selena That She Is

In the original version, Selena started out too good. We needed a concept of how are we going to take her without altering who she is. The prologue and epilogue create architecture for not just the San Sea, but for the entire series. That was a mechanism for taking from something that looks much more like the accessible present into the extraordinary world of the seven cities.
