The Donkey Story
When my kids were little to i've two boys, we took this vacation where we rented a house in the countryside. And they spent the entire week feeding them carrots. Then came the day when they realized that we would have to go home and never see these donkeys again. They were absolutely heart broken. All the usual things that parents might say to soothe children did not work. The thing that that made all the difference was when we said to them, you know what, this is part of life. This pain of saying good bye is part ofLife. It's like telling them that the sorrow that you see on the horizon is actually real. It's not an aberration.
