WebAssembly has been so low level that it's probably not going to help. In my experience, there wasn't a good interop layer between the DOM and WebAssembly even. The vast majority of scripting I want to do is DOM related. If all they had to do is include a host of other features as WebAssembly, like the problem would be solved. But there's just a little too much friction along the way to make that happen.
