The History of Hobble Skirts

Hobble skirts were designed by a guy called Paul Poiret. Women had to sort of hobble around, they couldn't move at all. It's literally 3D stereoscopic images of women falling over in giant skirts. Victorian husbands used to get annoyed at how much these crinels cost. And so men found it apparently incredibly funny to laugh at these 3D pictures of women in giant skirts trying to get on omnibusters.
