You Can't Trust Your Instincts, Right?
In the evangelical church, and really in sort of traditional christianity, there is an idea that you can't trust yourself. And it kind of hit me because one of the biggest things that has happened post deconstruction is learning to trust my own intuition. Is something my wife talks about, which is even more difficult for a woman who is brought up as some one who's supposed to be submissive to the man in her life. So not only can you not trust yourself, but you got to trust the man in your life,. You got to trust god before you trust yourself.
