Do You Need to Follow-Up Labs After Starting a Statin Therapy?

When you start a patient on statin therapy, how often are you following up labs? You need to measure follow-up labs to make sure that you have the appropriate reduction in LDL. So what about our patients who've been stable on the therapy? I get this question from residents all the time. Is that something that people continue to do? Would it be reasonable to check it maybe every three years or five years? Patients who are stable on their therapy? You know, again, diet, lifestyle, other things can influence your lipid levels.
