The film is based on an unproduced play. It was made in 19 forty two, and had only about half the script written when they went into production. The writers wrote new scenes every single day, and figuring it out as as they were shooting it. "This movie was not intended to be special," says director Michael Hirst. 'It's just getting better and better'
