Teachers need to be on their guard about lowering expectations with higher level questioning for multilingual learners. We feel the exact same way with teachers continuously using simple vocabulary and sentence structures when they're speaking with their students. So once it's been established that the students are able to understand comprehend and have access to the language like you mentioned before we feel that it is extremely important for us to start using the more elevated words.
