The Importance of Giving to Others in the Workplace
The behavioural insights team gave a couple of reasons why. It generally feels much better to give away money than it does to gain the equivalent amount. We get an irrational glow from giving away cash, which people treasure. So they work harder to get that same reward again. Those managers who proactively gave to others were considered more productive as well.
