How to Study Pawns in End Games
You always want to keep your weakness closer to the center so that you can easily easily, protected easier with your king or rook. If for example, your opponent has four and you have three, that's the perfect placement of pawns as they create their majority. Also having them that way helps with bringing the king up. You don't want to stay cut off. The king is very important in end games. So King kind of helps with the pawn structures.
