The Cost of Having a Broader Base in Education
In the UK, and I think Europe, people specialize earlier than in the US. The pattern was that those who got the more focused education did get hired more quickly right out of their education. They did have higher income right away, but their growth rates were lower. When there were sort of changes in their industry, they were less resilient,. So over the long term, they ended up losing out.
