In 409, these barbarians crossed the Pyrenees and entered Hispania. They spent a few years ravaging the countryside before dividing up Iberia between them. The Alans were probably the most powerful of the four groups at this point. Fridhamal was born around 415, just after these barbarian groups had divided up Iberian Peninsula.
