Traders will believe in some type of a strategy and they can't find other market participants actually using this so they decide on their lonesome I have this one novel strategy. Trend followers making money means their equity curve gets better and better but then the markets start stalling out of those trends which is when people are pulling money out just before the next big surge. When you took the dollar weighted return which is the actual returns that the CTAs would have provided had you just put your money with them and left it alone versus the excuse me the time weighted returns I got that wrong the time weighted return was what theCTAs would do if you just left it alone, clients were hurting themselves
