Consciousness Is Crucial, Isn't It?

The book is predicated on the idea that life is for happiness. And i don't think that's how people experience life, it seems to be a series of crucial ethical decisions. I can't imagine another being that's like me in most senses who isn't constantly wrestling with what the next proper thing to do is. So it may be much more central than we think. and ad i really don't think there's a counter argument to that, not a solid one....
