The Four Principles of Gresham's Law

Gresham's law says bad money drives out good money. So when, like this has been identified happening as early as the Roman Empire, they would say, hey, there's counterfeiters that are counterfeiting the coins. And so anybody who hadn't yet turned in their old coins, they save them and they hoard them. Because if you have to, if you're faced between spending the old good money or the new bad money, you're gonna spend the old bad money, or I'm sorry, the new badMoney.
