Patrick: Value-based strategies have had a lot of success and if you boil them down to their essence they probably are buying crappy companies they become less crappy. Patrick: I often say you can make so much money buying an incredibly terrible company that goes to being god-awful is a huge move. He says he's had good investing results doing that years ago in Canadian conglomerate called George Weston. The CEO Galen Weston put Dick Curry in charge of his holding company which everyone thought was totally lousy but then transformed it into something great.
