There will be a handful of different architectures for smart contract platforms that collectively cover the entire tradeoff space. And it's very hard for a single architecture to just be the god blockchain that basically takes the ball paint. The fact that there is no platform risk allows you to leverage other smart contracts that are also running on the samechain as inputs to your own application.
