Nico's unusually throaty voice always makes me think of a pig-tailed Nordic bruiser from American gladiators with a stage name like Splotch But she's invariably compelling and this is a gorgeous, gorgeous, gorgeous showcase for her Well, what in the world is that kind of wrinkly distorted sound behind the verses? It makes the whole thing sound like the tape got eaten. I really love the contrast between her very sophisticated obviously European lead vocal and the really nasal, hick sounding backing vocals just mangling the title phrase They're not pronouncing it correctly at all So there you go, money was spent on it Spent on studio time 🎵 Anyway, hey,
