Shaggy Bayon: A Dream I Had to Fulfill

I wanted to be a writer as a little boy. I didn't have any books at home. That's not a sad thing, because the boys, the kids around me, didn't have books either. Didn't make us any less empathetic or curious or creative. It's just sometimes you don't have books. But also my schooling and my youth was so disrupted between the bullying and between my mother's addiction that I couldn't concentrate at school. And so it was only really after my mother's death that the teachers could really sit me down for a protected period of time and put books in front of me. By the time I discover books at 17, it's too late
