Roman Britain and the Mediterranean Way of Living in the East Midlands
There are suggestions that modern parish boundaries in the rural areas of Northumberland may have Iron Age origins. There were people in Roman Britain who chose to adopt Mediterranean ways and when they did it they did it as well as anyone else in Western Europe.
