Is Cruelty to Robots Going to Be Criminalized?

A robot was found dismembered but in like a mountain. A lot of people were pointing to that as you know with the robot the hiking robot or whatever dismemberment saying look this shows that we need to you know protect the robots. If they're similar to animals then how does that shift for police robots? What about damage what about hacks when these things inevitably malfunction right who bears responsibility if for the mistakes of the robot and so on.
