The Second Law of Thermodynamics
The second law of thermodynamics is a strange one in physics because no one knows how to derive it from anything more fundamental, as they tend to do with other laws. We have these things called kepler's laws, which govern planetary approximately speaking. Now the word law here is a misnoma. If we're going to have the general theory of relativity, but newton's law of gravity, we've got a bit of a problem. The word law doesn't mean enshrined forever as the gospel truth.
