There are a hundred, 96 countries around the world that have implemented a wealth tax. Bernard ernalt, the co of elvium, h he immediately when this wealth tax was implemented, looked for residency in belgium. Even though you think it'll drive a lot more revenue, what france actually found is that it likely drove around half the revenue from the ultra rich during that time period. It naturally also increases the incentive for people to lie about their assets or the income they're driving.

Wealth inequality has been increasing for decades, and recently, there has been a heightened focus on billionaires as we debate what to do about the concentration of large swaths of wealth in a few hands.

In this episode, Steph and Cal discuss whether or not billionaires should exist, common proposals for dealing with billionaires, and a few policy proposals for how we can start thinking about tackling wealth inequality.
