For most comers, slapping them on a beta blocker immediately probably is not the right move to do. There is evidence that beta blockers reduce the risk of malignant data with mea. For your ICU patients with acute cardiogenic pulmonary dema, beta blocker is contradicated. It has not been shown to really affect important outcomes.
