Ankrin Ubuntu - Theology of Forgiveness and Reconciliation

In South Africa, the transition to democracy and now some of that was presidency in 1994. Desmond Tutu advocated an Ubuntu theology that was really formative in the development of the Truth and Reconciliation Commission. He sort of moved the idea of Ubuntu from simply an African philosophy based on African values of community and kinship to Christian values and identity with the creator God. It was a sort of a strategy in an attempt to recover from the pains and brokenness of apartheid. You know, Ankrin Ubuntu into these into the Christian ideals of forgiveness and reconciliation as gifts from God for peaceful, communal coexistence.
