I think the subfield of archaeology that's the most interesting to me is this landscape and environmental archaeology. Every time I drive by a hill, I'm like, are you a hill? Or are you a settlement? And in ways that are more subtle too. The networks of ditches, when I was in Ireland doing my master's degree, I did an archaeology course on castles. They're just big mounds that you would then build a timber castle on top of.
