The Importance of Rogue in Indie Games

I imagine that Spelunky really put it on sort of the modern radar, even if it is not a true Rogue like. So... Who cares? Yeah, I'm a copy curious about it. And then it just became this refrain sort of in indie games, and a lot of those things were chalked up to Spelunky and being Spelunky likes perhaps. Until we played Brogue really for the show, it wasn't a thing where I had, well, I guess I played some sheer and mystery dungeon, which was awesome.
